RED FLAG WARNING

The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a RED FLAG WARNING until 8pm EDT this evening

*Affected Area: Northern New York and most of Vermont

*Timing: This afternoon through early evening

*Winds: North 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph

*Relative Humidity: As low as 20 percent

*Temperatures: Highs in the 40's

*Impacts: Very dry fuels exist across the north country. Any fires that do occur today will likely spread quickly, burn intensely, and be difficult to contain.

*Instructions: A RED FLAG WARNING means the critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels will create dangerous fire growth potential
