RED FLAG WARNING

The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a RED FLAG WARNING until 7pm EDT this evening.

*Affected Areas: Addison, Orange, Rutland, and Windsor counties in southern Vermont.

*Winds: Northwest 15 to 20mph with gusts up to 30mph

*Relative Humidity: As low as 20 to 25 percent

*Timing: Through 7pm this evening

*Impacts: Gusty northwest winds combined with low humidity and very dry fuels indicate that any fires that were to start would quickly spread and become difficult to contain.

* Temperatures: In the mid to high 50's

Instructions: A RED FLAG WARNING means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will be shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels will create explosive fire potential
